Welcome Melissa Fuller – New Hire

Champion Environmental Services, Inc. would like to announce the hiring of Melissa Fuller. With a strong background in sales and marketing, Ms. Fuller will be responsible for new business development in all the geographic areas that we currently serve; an emphasis will be placed on entering new markets while facilitating growth and relationships with new clients.

Educational Facilities Asbestos Abatement

Champion Environmental Services, Inc. is currently mobilized on site at two educational facilities, Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville, Wisconsin and at the Ninth Grade Center in Waukegan, Illinois performing asbestos abatement.

CESI is an industry leader having assisted colleges, high schools, elementary institutions, and child care facilitates throughout the country in an effort to create a safer environment by ridding these buildings of environmental hazards. Empress Casino, Joliet, IL

In response to the fire that occurred at the Empress Casino in Joliet, Illinois, Champion Environmental Services, Inc. was hired to provide quick assistance in facilitating the clean up of smoke damaged portions of the building.

CESI is poised to provide immediate - efficient response to emergency situations that require urgent attention. Upon notification from the client, a team and proper equipment was assembled and on the road within thirty minutes. Working from the late afternoon through early morning, CESI was able to accomplish full decontamination of the effected area in less than a 24 hour period of time.

Building Material Reuse Association

Yesterday, Champion Environmental Services, Inc. participated in a panel discussion concerning our successful approach to recycling and reuse on our demolition projects at the Building Material Reuse Association national conference held at the University of Illinois, Chicago.

The discussion, facilitated by Terrence O’Rourke, entailed a company overview, Champion’s approach to recycling, the bottom line of advantages and disadvantages, what the company is able to recycle, reuse, and salvage; the presentation concluded with a summation of key factors to overall success.

The presentation was well received by conference participants and generated a host of inquires by attendees following the discussion.

Illinois Central College

Champion Environmental Services, Inc. just completed the removal of 1,800 square feet of asbestos floor tile and mastic for Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Illinois. The proper abatement was accomplished safely on time and without incident.

Janesville, Wisconsin

A vacant commercial building in Janesville, Wisconsin is being abated of floor tile and mastic, pipe insulation, elbows/tees on pipe insulation and plaster ceiling in various locations throughout the structure. Upon completion of proper ACM removal, Champion Environmental Services, Inc. will be demolishing the 38,000 square foot structure.

Watertown, WI

Champion Environmental Services, Inc. is currently mobilized in Watertown, Wisconsin performing asbestos abatement at a vacant retail mall called Watertown Square. Champion Environmental Services, Inc. will be removing 38,016 square feet of floor tile, mastic, and carpet and long with 1,875 linear feet of CAT I window/door caulk.

Following proper abatement and disposal of all ACM, Champion Environmental Services, Inc. will assemble all necessary equipment to begin demolition of the four vacant structures which encompass 110,000 square feet.

Des Plaines, Illinois

Champion Environmental Services, Inc. is nearing final preparation to begin the demolition of an industrial parcel in Des Plaines, Illinois. The building is 137,400 square feet and sits on six acres.

Champion Environmental Services, Inc. is excited about this project due to the high rate of recycling we will be able to achieve on behalf of a private client who is seeking LEED Certification for the new facility which will be built following demolition.

The brick exterior will be stripped, cleaned, and loaded onto pallets for reuse. All block, concrete, and unusable brick will be crushed on site for the contractors to incorporate in the new construction. All steel will be salvaged and sold.

The goal on this project for Champion Environmental Services, Inc. is to achieve a recycling rate of 98%. Due to our innovative efforts, a few thousand tons of debris will be diverted from landfills.

Toys "R" Us, North Riverside, IL

As part of a full sale renovation project at the Toys "R" Us in North Riverside, Illinois, Champion Environmental Services, Inc. is providing interior demolition and asbestos abatement services.

JC Penney #1451, Joliet, IL

As part of a full scale JC Penny store renovation project in Joliet, Illinois, Champion Environmental Services, Inc. is providing interior demolition and abatement services.

Spring Green, Wisconsin

Champion Environmental Services, Inc. will be working on behalf of a private client to demolish a grain silo in Spring Green, Wisconsin.

University of Wisconsin, La Crosse

Champion Environmental Services, Inc. was awarded a contract to provide asbestos abatement services at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse campus. Baird Hall, Wilder Hall, and Trowbridge Hall will be abated of all asbestos containing material prior to demolition.

The dorms are four stories in height with full basements encompassing approximately 77,000 square feet. Following asbestos abatement, Champion Environmental Services, Inc. will begin mobilizing equipment to begin demolition work.
